Hi again,

I am trying to assign some volume midi pedal to drive some plugin parameter. I use direct FX value change but the result is not smooth when recording automation. It jumps straight from previous state to final state without takling into consideration the intermediate values even though when looking at the plugin you clearly see the knob moving smoothly. Any idea what I can do to improve this?

Best regards,
Stéphane

Try change to "Timeout touch" from "Auto touch".

I have to recheck that I do not have no bugs there, but it looks like it is a feature (on Sonar side).

Hi,

I will try this and let you know...

Just tried and it works great. This is awesome.

Thanks,
Stéphane

In fact, everything is logical. But may be I should change the default. The touch indicates during which period the value from the control is "valid":

  • In "Manual" mode, the touch is triggered explicitly (for example by touch sensitive controls)
  • In "Automatic" mode, the parameter is "touched" right before the change and "untouched" right after. So, SONAR use "Jump" style in automation.
  • In  "Timeout" mode, SONAR tries to be smart.

Thanks. It makes sense.
